Job Description


Description:
May assist with processing patients (Document chief complaint, vital signs, allergies, tobacco history)
Performs and documents nursing care
Observes signs, symptoms and reactions and communicates any unusual conditions as appropriate. ( May administer meds per provider’s orders for back office)
Start and discontinue IVs and provide IV treatments per provider’s orders
Supervise and assist as needed ( MA/LVNs)
Screens messages as per policy time frames for appropriateness and contacts member if further clarification is needed
Assists Provider with procedures and treatments (Blood Pressure Checks, Ear Wash, Diabetic Insulin teaching and Glucometer teaching, Diabetic foot exams, Injections (Immunizations, Procrit, Testosterone, Depo-Testosterone), Pregnancy tests, Skin Tests: PPD/TB)
Provides and documents patient/family education. Utilizes appropriate resources (e.g., AVS, KP brochures, etc.).
Schedules/wait list patients’ appointments as appropriate
