Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced orthopedic clinical team. This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of timely, safe, and patient-centered care by performing both administrative and clinical duties. These include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with procedures, handling patient communication, scheduling, and other clerical responsibilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, clinical competence, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients and record vital signs accurately.
- Assist physicians and clinicians with clinical procedures and patient care tasks.
- Manage appointment scheduling, phone messages, and other front-desk clerical duties.
- Accurately input and retrieve patient data using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Provide excellent customer service in all patient and team member interactions.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient visits.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all healthcare regulations and protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program.
- Minimum of 3 yearsâ experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Basic computer and data entry skills, especially in EMR systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a high-volume setting.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. frequently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Orthopedic experience highly preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant: CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Certifications (if any)
- Required: BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Preferred: CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA certification.
Education: High School
Certification: Basic Life Support , Certified Management Accountant
