Job Summary:
The Acute Care Director is responsible for overseeing the operation of Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Cardiovascular Catheterization Services at Seton Medical Center and Seton Coastside. This role involves guiding staff in performing their duties effectively, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with State and Federal regulations, and improving the quality of services for the community. The director will also focus on planning, prioritizing, and implementing strategies to meet annual goals and improve service metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Critical Care Services including ICU, CCU, and Patient Care Units (Cost Centers 6010, 6030, 7230).

  • Manage Med/Surg Telemetry, Telemetry & Medical Oncology, Infusion Center, Surgical/Ortho Spine (Cost Centers 6178, 6179, 6171, 7230 & 6172).

  • Ensure continuous and effective operation of the departments/services and drive performance improvement.

  • Integrate departmental services with the organization’s core functions and coordinate with other departments for better overall performance.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to support quality service delivery.

  • Conduct data analysis, cost projections, and profitability analysis to optimize revenue and manage expenses.

  • Conduct literature reviews to ensure evidence-based clinical and operational practices.

  • Lead service line management, including contract reviews and provide concrete recommendations for achieving service line goals.

  • Monitor clinical outcomes, patient safety, and resource utilization to ensure the highest quality of care.

  • Demonstrate competency in clinical management by planning and organizing personnel and resources efficiently.

  • Develop and manage operational systems to achieve growth targets and ensure continuous improvement.

  • Monitor and manage equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Lead efforts to improve patient safety and care quality, eliminating harm and ensuring positive outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant area of responsibility (completed or in-progress).

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.

  • 5–10 years of supervisory experience.

  • Active CA RN license in good standing.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in computer systems including MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in acute care or critical care management.

  • Experience in managing diverse healthcare teams and driving performance improvements.

Certifications:

  • Active CA RN license in good standing
