Job Description
Job Summary:
The Imaging Applications Analyst II is responsible for the design, implementation, validation, and ongoing support of multiple clinical imaging applications (e.g., RIS, Radiology PACS, Cardiology PACS, Voice Dictation, Advanced Post Processing, RadOnc EMR, EKG/EEG, GI). Under minimal supervision, this role ensures that the design, configuration, integration, and user experience of these applications meet clinical and business objectives. The Analyst will consult with clinicians, staff, and vendors to configure, test, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within these imaging systems, as well as support new implementations and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support (75%):
Troubleshoot, configure, validate, upgrade, and provide support for clinical imaging applications across Keck Medicine.
Provide off-hours on-call support for system issues and apply independent judgment to resolve them.
Independently and collaboratively work on assigned projects.
Design & Implementation (25%):
Lead the design, implementation, upgrade, and conversion of clinical imaging applications to ensure stability and functionality.
Provide escalation support, root-cause analysis, and troubleshooting of issues.
Work closely with IS teams to ensure that applications comply with organizational standards and policies.
Assist in identifying and resolving application issues, including providing recommendations and implementing solutions.
Collaboration & Communication:
Regularly meet with clinicians, IT staff, and vendors to discuss system specifications and provide timely problem resolution or escalation.
Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing application software and assist with application enhancements.
Training & Knowledge Sharing:
Develop and deliver training materials and plans for Faculty, Staff, and Students on the use of Imaging Applications.
System Integration:
Support and test HL7 integration between Cerner EMR and Imaging applications to ensure data integrity.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Imaging System functionality and clinical workflows.
After-Hours Support:
Be available for after-hours and weekend support in line with a 24x7 system availability model.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Science, Financials, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the design, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrading, and supporting clinical imaging applications (e.g., Cerner RadNet, Fuji PACS/CV, PowerScribe 360, Varian Aria, Natus Xltek, Provation).
- Proficient in Microsoft Nuance and Imaging AI.
- Working knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and IHE.
- Experience in supporting Imaging Informatics system interfaces.
- Knowledge of Imaging Modalities (XR, US, MRI, CT, Nuclear, Mammo, EKG).
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex application or workflow problems.
- Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions to business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Nuance PIN (Precision Imaging Network) and FUM (Follow-Up Manager).
- Experience with Imaging AI technologies.
- Advanced knowledge of clinical imaging workflows and system integration.
- Previous experience in the healthcare sector.
Certifications:
Any relevant certifications in clinical imaging or IT systems (e.g., Cerner, PACS, HL7) are a plus.
