*Experience within the healthcare / medical field is required
This position will provide functional support to the Contract Manager, carrying out supplemental administrative tasks towards existing and new contracts.
This position requires experience with managed care contracts directly involving network management, contract administration, coordination, medical billing application/knowledge, LoA (Letter of Agreement), claims auditing, database management. and Patient Financial Services operations.
Skills and Knowledge:
The candidate must have full knowledge of Managed Care Contracting, high level knowledge of claims payment / processing procedures / methodologies; advanced provider relations and customer service skills; ; strong knowledge of managed care nomenclature and various types of provider reimbursement mechanisms; good knowledge of medical center operations, confirmation of rates, patient registration and patient accounting processes. Also crucial carrying follow up methods; must understand payer coordination of benefits (COB) rules.
The secondary knowledge requirements are: solid understanding of hospitals and professional charges and utilization; and a basic understanding of ICD-10 and CPT / HCPCS coding structure and usage. In addition, the incumbent must have strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, verbal and written skills to communicate at all levels of the organization. EPIC experience a plus.
